Counseling Service (PBS)

The Three Pillars of PBS

The psychotherapeutic counseling center for students advises all students of Goethe University free of charge and anonymously.

We provide counseling, for example, for:

  • Learning difficulties, e.g. test anxiety, procrastination, learning difficulties
  • Interpersonal problems, such as family or relationship conflicts
  • Identity issues
  • Stressful life events
  • Mental disorders, e.g. anxiety, depression, eating disorders
  • Addiction problems, e.g. alcohol, drugs, gambling
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Migration conflicts
  • Support in finding a therapy placement
  • ... even if you don't really know what's wrong, but feel that it would be good to talk to someone.

To make an appointment, please use our online appointment form

Since we do not offer outpatient psychotherapy, we can provide you with detailed information about outpatient and inpatient therapies and help you find a suitable therapy placement. If you would like to learn more about psychotherapy, please visit our homepage.

Please note that the university will be closed from December 23, 2023 - January 7, 2024. No in-person appointments can be scheduled during this time. However, you can book virtual appointments through our appointment booking system. Our office may be reached by mail (anmeldung.pbs@uni-frankfurt.de) or phone at 0151/70369005 for questions from January 2, 2024.

Our services for Goethe-University employees can be found on the pages of Studium Lehre Internationales. Employees who wish to seek counseling due to psychological stress can contact the psychological counseling service.
