Semesterticket (semester ticket)

The lower stripe on your electronic student ID is for the imprint of the RMV-AStA-Semesterticket. It is imprinted during validation and updated each time you re-register. The Semesterticket entitles you to unlimited travel (2nd class) within the RMV network (Rhine-Main) and RMV-VRN transitional fare zones during the semester - including one month before the start of the semester. For more information about the RMV-AStA-Semesterticket, please click on the following link: RMV-AStA-Semesterticket.

The low price of the Semesterticket is based on the principle of solidarity. However, some students may find it difficult to afford the semester ticket. This is where the AStA hardship fund can help. The hardship fund means that eligible students can be exempted from a portion of the Studierendenwerk's fees without having to pay for the RMV-AStA-Semesterticket. You must pay the fee at the beginning of the semester, but you can always apply for a refund.

The hardship fund is administered by the Studierendenwerk Frankfurt am Main on behalf of Goethe University's AStA. Information from the Studentenwerk and the application for reimbursement can be found here.
