Benedikt Bender has been working at Goethe University in teaching, research and university self-administration since January 2020. In addition to comparative methodology, the research focus covers two broad topics: political economy and welfare state reforms in an EU comparison. On the one hand, the focus is on the conflict between trade unions and employers' associations, i.e. which reforms do they support and which ones are rejected. On the other hand, it is analyzed whether and if so to what extent organized interests are involved in the national policy process. Mr. Bender's research has been published in a monograph and several book chapters, as well as in journals such as the Journal of Social Policy and Industrial Relations. In addition, Mr. Bender directs the Reform Monitor of Political Conflict (ReMoPo), which is continuously updated and expanded.
