M.A. Sociology Study Regulations & Downloads

Please note: The Study Regulations 2022 and the documents referring to them (marked with "SR 2022") apply to students who started their studies in the winter semester 2022/2023 or later.

The Study Regulations 2015 and the documents referring to them (marked with "SR 2015") apply to students who started their studies before the winter semester 2022/2023.

Please also note that many documents contain drop-down fields. You may need to save these documents locally in order to select your degree program.

As the programme is completely taught in German, the following documents are mostly in German language.

Study regulations/ module overviews/ exemplary course plans

  • Module opening requests (all study regulations)

When planning your semester, you find a course that is not open for your desired module, you can submit an application to open a module at the beginning of the semester. Current module opening applications and all other information about the deadlines and the procedure can be found under "Requests for the Opening of Courses"

Examination office/ examinations/ module sheets/ applications for recognition of achievements
  • Module Sheet for the optional module (SR 2022)

Electronic exam registration is not possible with the optional module. You must therefore use this module sheet for all courses in the optional module.

The master’s degree in sociology can be studied with a focus that is certified separately.

Please only use the module sheet if electronic registration for the exam is technically not possible!!!

You must submit the "Registration for Module Examinations in the 1st Semester" once at the beginning of your studies to the Examination Office of Faculty 03. In case of a change of subject, the document has to be submitted again.

The "Declaration of Examination Performance" must be attached to all written module examinations and the final thesis.

You can use the "Application for the Recognition of Coursework and Examinations" if you want to transfer credits from other universities or from other study programs.

You can use this application to clarify in advance with the examination board which achievements of your stay abroad will be recognised.

The "Declaration of Examination Performance" must be attached to all written module examinations and the final thesis.

The publication of theses in the library is voluntary and is no longer automatic and only digital. If you would like a publication, you will find all the information you need on this document.
