ABOUT THE PAUL EHRLICH FOUNDATION
The Paul Ehrlich Foundation is a legally dependent foundation of the Association of Friends and Benefactors of Goethe University.
The purpose of the Paul Ehrlich Foundation is to cultivate the intellectual tradition and memory of Paul Ehrlich (1854-1915) while respecting the will of its founder, in particular by acknowledging scientists from at home and abroad who have accomplished outstanding achievements in the areas of immunology, cancer research, haematology, microbiology and chemotherapy in which Paul Ehrlich worked.
The Honorary President, the Scientific Council and the Board of Trustees constitute the Paul Ehrlich Foundation. Honorary President is Professor Katja Becker, President of the German Research Foundation. Chairman of the Scientific Council is Professor Thomas Boehm, Director at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg. Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Professor Jochen Maas, General Manager R&D Germany, Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH. Professor Wilhelm Bender, in his capacity as Chairman of the Association of Friends and Benefactors of Goethe University, is also a member of the Scientific Council of the Paul Ehrlich Foundation. The President of Goethe University is at the same time a member of the Board of Trustees in this capacity.
