Prof. Dr. Lars Leszczensky - Vita

Since 2023, Lars Leszczensky is a Professor for Sociology with a focus on network research at the Institute of Sociology, Department of Social Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. His research focuses on the causes and consequences of social networks, particularly in relation to integration and intergroup relationships. Among other things, he is the head of the ERC project "The Interplay of Children's and Parents' Networks in Shaping Each Other's Social Worlds (ChiParNet)".

Lars Leszcensky studied sociology, journalism and philosophy at the Universität Leipzig. After his studies, he worked as research assistant at Prof. Dr. Frank Kalter's Chair of General Sociology at the University of Mannheim as well as at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). He wrote his doctoral thesis at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences (CDSS) at Universität Mannheim. After completing his doctorate in 2016, he worked as a post-doc at the MZES, where he led a DFG project investigating the influence of religion and religiosity on the social and identificatory integration of Muslim youth.
