Practice collaborations in teaching

Since 2015, the IKH supports lecturers at Goethe University as well as practice partners in the city and region who (would like to) collaborate in the context of practice-oriented courses with targeted offers. The practice collaborations can be embedded in different didactic formats (e.g. service learning, work-integrated learning or accompanied internships). These formats offer great potential to promote the development of subject-specific, interdisciplinary, personal as well as civic competencies among students. At the same time, they pose specific challenges to both lecturers and their collaboration partners from the field.

The IKH therefore provides both information and networking offers for these target groups and their requirements in different stages of practice collaborations within the framework of teaching courses. These include further training and consulting services that facilitate and promote the planning, preparation and implementation of collaboration projects within the framework of courses.

With the goal of stronger networking between higher education and civil society (third mission), Goethe University joined the University Network on Social Responsibility e. V. (HBdV) in November 2014 and organized the HBdV annual conference in 2015. Representatives of the IKH are in regular exchange with the HBdV and are also actively involved in the research working group of the network.

The offers of the IKH for practice collaborations in teaching are part of the university-wide project "ELLVIS", financed by the HMWK.
