Solidarity with Ukraine

Goethe University strongly condemns Russia's aggression and the war against free and sovereign Ukraine. Our solidarity goes out to the people of Ukraine, to all Ukrainians at home and abroad, but also to all those in Russia and around the world who are resolutely committed to peace and freedom.

The impact of the war and the associated humanitarian catastrophe will affect us in our everyday lives, including our daily interaction and work at Goethe University. As a university, we are now called upon to show solidarity with Ukraine, to stand resolutely against Russia's war policy and at the same time to provide aid within the scope of our possibilities.

We are following the recommendations of the Alliance of German Academic Organisations suspending cooperations with Russia until further notice. In doing so, we are supporting the sanctions regime of the European Union and the German government. As a joint effort Goethe University is expanding its support and service offers.

On this site you will find current information and a collection of links to Goethe University's services as well as support offers from non-profit organisations and crowd initiatives. Our information will be updated regularly.
