The development of our experimental setup is progressing very well. We are deciding which components to use and how to arrange everything. Many details have to be considered, e. g. the setup has to fit into a box of 10 x 10 x 15 cm, it has to survive the launch of the rocket and it has to work in space.
We are participating in the Night of Science at the Goethe University. Next to the exhibition about meteorites, at the second floor of the Geosciences building, we are presenting our project EXCISS.

We awarded the winner of our design contest – Benjamin Siebert from the August-Bebel-Schule in Offenbach – with a trophy and a price. The other participants received a small present for their suggestions. Special thanks goes to the Goethe University, the Senckenberg Naturmuseum, the Night of Science and the Druckerei E. Sauerland for providing the prizes.

EXCISS was chosen as one of eight ideas for the next round of the "Überflieger" contest. Our next stop is the two day workshop in Bonn at the DLR where we will present and develop our experiment in front of a jury of scientific experts. They will decide if our experiment will fly to the ISS in spring 2018 together with the german astronaut Alexander Gerst.
