Atmospheric Transport

The research group investigates atmospheric transport processes, especially in the upper troposphere to middle stratosphere and the influence of these processes on trace gas budgets. The investigations are based on the measurements of long lived trace gases (so-called tracers), with different lifetimes, encompassing the relevant transport times. Aerosol and Cloud research

Our research area deals with the study of aerosol particles and clouds. The main emphasis is on the investigation of atmospheric new particle formation as well as the identification of ice nuclei, which are responsible for the formation of ice crystals in medium altitude clouds. [Read more...]
