RISS-Project No. 6: The Impact of Social Structure, Discrimination and Violence on the German Muslim Community
Role: Osman studies how Muslim immigrants' identification, political behavior, and preferences are affected by discrimination and violence in Germany, and how their socioeconomic diversity changes these effects. In addition to making a contribution to the theory development, he is also involved in the process of survey experimental design and secondary data analyses.
About: Osman Suntay received his political science MA degree from University of Mannheim. His interests lie in the area of political sociology and social conflict with a special focus on quantitative methods. More specifically, he is interested in the immigration policies, right-wing populism in Europe, leaders' role in social conflicts, and causes of religious extremism.
