RISS-Project No. 4: The Role of Internalized Efficacy Beliefs for Participation in Education and Political Life

Role: Max Jansen examines the role of adolescents' efficacy beliefs for participation in education and political life. His research involves development, pretesting, implementation, and analysis of items and vignettes to examine influences depending on adolescents' socio-economic and migration background. Max focuses on the Impostor Phenomenon (IP) which he empirically investigates by applying a sociological perspective using innovative measures and an online survey of approximately 3,000 15- to 17-year-old adolescents.

About: Max obtained a Master's degree in International Studies / Peace and Conflict Studies (M.A.) and Gender Studies from Goethe University Frankfurt, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences (B.Sc.) from the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, University of Cologne. He spent study and research stays at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), Ben-Gurion-University of the Negev-Be'er Scheva (Israel), and Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary).
