Habilitation (Postdoctoral Thesis)

The habilitation at the Faculty of Social Sciences takes place in the subjects of sociology or political science. The habilitation is a proof of qualified ability for independent scientific research and teaching. Information on the requirements for admission and on the corresponding application can be found in the habilitation statutes of FB03 [german] (cf. §§ 2 and 3).
Please note that there are no fixed deadlines for admission to a habilitation procedure in the subject applied for or for the opening of the procedure. The decision is usually made by the departmental council no later than two months after receipt of the application in the dean's office of the department.
