Language courses
Use the
services of the Language Centre to prepare for your stay abroad. Language training in the form of
language tandems is also particularly recommended.
Lektor's certificates
Most partner universities recognise so-called lektor's certificates. These are issued free of charge by the respective language teachers of the general contractor. However, appointments should be made well in advance.
The respective contact details can be found on the pages of the
International Office.
Co-financing of the department
The FB15 subsidizes the acquisition of English language certificates (such as TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate) from Quality Assurance Teaching funds. Up to 80% of the examination fees can be refunded, no preparation course costs will be covered!
An informal application with the following documents and information is sufficient:
- Copy of the acquired language certificate
- Invoices (or certificates) of fees paid
- Copy of bank statement
- matriculation certificate
- bank account
- mailing address
- BSc students must justify the necessity of the certificate
The application must be submitted to
Dr. Sittig no later than 6 months after invoicing (preclusive period).
The Quality Assurance Teaching Commission decides on the eligibility of the incoming applications once per semester.
Preparation for the TOEFL test
To prepare for the TOEFL test, Quality Assurance Teaching funds were used to purchase new materials, which are also available at the Library of Natural Sciences on Campus Riedberg. You can find them under the search term "TOEFL" on the website of the
university library.
