NAME/POSITION

Nora Leps (PhD Student)

FIELD OF RESEARCH:

Lateral Boundary Conditions in Regional Climate System Modelling

I studied Meteorology at Goethe-University Frankfurt. I joined the working group Mesoscale Meteorology and Climate in the beginning of 2016 as a PhD student, in cooperation with the German Weather Service DWD within the MiKlip II project. My research focusses on the lateral boundary especially in the atmospheric model CCLM and the coupled atmosphere-ocean system CCLM/NEMO. In my Master Thesis I investigated convection permitting simulations, which is still a topic of interest for me. I enjoy assisting in teaching at University, especially for the lecture “Numerical Weather Prediction”.
