Research Focus

The research question investigates if the idea of a wholistic conception of democratic well-being (i.e., one that encompasses the political autonomy and economic well-being of citizens) could serve as a normative ground to argue for a decision-making process in such a way that could effectively respond to the current challenges of democratic governance. It aims at a broader and more effective framework for wholistic democratic well-being whereby citizens’ roles, needs, and aspirations are prioritized. This work is inspired by Jurgen Habermas’ two-track notion of democracy.
