The MEAS programme was a unique experience in so many ways: coming from a background of political science and China studies, I was able to gain insights on the East Asian economy and society beyond my prior focus. The programme really benefits from the variety of international students who all bring their own specialization into the discourse. Small groups, topics on the cutting edge and excellent lecturers have contributed to my personal success in the MEAS programme.

The programme qualified me for a job in market entry consulting for German companies in Beijing. Back in Germany, I worked for an international family business as assistant to the head of the Asian market. Some years later, my political passion has caught up with me again: I have been elected as member of the German parliament and I now spread my knowledge about East Asia in the German Bundestag.
