I can recommend the MEAS programme for two good reasons. The first is that you will have the chance to work closely together with academics from all over the world.I recall vivid discussions on political, legal and economic topics. Secondly the programme is well structured and it allows students to find their own niche within the programme. I focused on Chinese language and learned to apply specific theories and methods for achieving a deeper understanding of developments in China. During my time as a student, I also took part in cultural exchange events such as those organised by the Confucius Institute.

My Chinese language skills helped me to land a job in Frankfurt with a Chinese company. For a few years I facilitated study trips for Chinese professionals. These groups came to Germany to learn about topics such as vocational education or car manufacturing. More recently I worked as a compliance professional in e-commerce.
In this job I worked with Chinese sellers and it was for sure good to have Chinese language skills and legal knowledge in my backpack thanks to MEAS.
