Vita

Lina Schneider is a PhD candidate at the Chair of International Institutions and Peace Processes. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Political Science, English language and literature and Business Administration ("European Studies") at the University of Passau from 2012 to 2016, with a stay at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. Her Master's degree in International Relations at the TU Dresden (2016-2020), with a focus on international political theory and international law, took her to the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá for a semester in 2017 and to New York for an internship at the German diplomatic mission of the Federal Foreign Office in 2018. From 2019 to 2020, she was also a research assistant at the Mercator Forum Migration and Democracy (MIDEM) at TU Dresden, and a research associate at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin from February to April 2019. Before accepting the PhD position, Lina Schneider worked at the European Commission as a Blue Book Trainee, and as a Policy Assistant at the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST).

Since July 2022, Lina Schneider is a research associate at the research centre "Transformations of Political Violence" (TraCe) at Goethe University Frankfurt, researching approaches to transformative justice and its institutionalisations in postcolonial contexts of violence. Her research interests include international institutions of political and economic regulation, the effects and processes of global inequality and migration, as well as (il-)liberalism, statehood, democracy and rule of law.
