As early as 1958, the members of the Freunde und Förderer recognised the importance of promoting young talent in the sciences. Through the €10,000 prize donated by the Friends, the best work in the natural sciences at Goethe University is recognised. With this traditional prize, the members of the Friends make it possible to support young academics and pave the way for the careers of many scientists.
