With the Start ins Deutsche (SiD) project, the Goethe University is making a contribution to the integration of refugees in Germany: Students who have been trained in language teaching and intercultural competence offer voluntary German courses for language orientation. In this way, they support refugees in overcoming language barriers and facilitating the integration process. Course contents are not only grammar and a basic vocabulary, but also communication. Both the refugees and the teaching students benefit from the cultural exchange. The project is made possible by donations.
