Application for the Academy Program: Membership and Fellowship

Eligibility

For Membership - independent group leaders with fully self-funded position for at least five years obtained by highly competitive procedures or the respective hosting faculty can file an application.

For Fellowship - advanced Postdocs, independent group leaders, Junior Professors at W1 or A1 tenure track level of Goethe University, RMU or internal partner universities can apply for Fellowship Status, an Academy Fellowship or a Sabbatical Fellowship.

Required documents

For Membership - CV with list of publications and conference participations, a proof of the awarded financial resources, a statement of the hosting faculty has to be submitted. The applicant will be invited for an interview.

For Fellowship - CV with list of publications and conference participations; letter of motivation for participation in JQYA; if applicable, including an explanation why an Academy Fellowship or a Sabbatical Fellowship would boost the career of the candidate; one national and one international reference has to be submitted.

Evaluation and Selection

Four Distinguished Senior Scientists select up to ten Fellows per annum upon applications based on:

  • excellence of candidate´s research impact
  • commitment to service
  • strong personal motivation.

The Membership and Fellowship status will be delivered as award in the middle of every year in an official ceremony.
