Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies (minor subject)
Gender Studies are an inter-/transdisciplinary field of science and research with an international focus which understands ‘gender’ as a category in the critical analysis of science, culture and society. It covers topics such as gender-specific distribution of labour and gender pay gap, discrimination and justice, different ways of life and lifestyles as well as gender images in various media and their influence on everyday life, and in general conditions and definitions of gender and gender relationships in different historical, societal and political contexts.
Special features
The B.A. minor subject Gender Studies in Frankfurt is organized and run in cooperation with the Cornelia Goethe Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (CGC - Cornelia Goethe Centrum für Frauenstudien und die Erforschung der Geschlechterverhältnisse). The following faculties also contribute to this interdisciplinary programme: Law, Educational Sciences, Psychology and Sports Sciences, Protestant Theology, Philosophy and History, Linguistics, Cultures and Arts, and Modern Languages.

The minor-subject Bachelor programme in Gender Studies can be combined with all major Bachelor subjects where 60 credits points (CP) are foreseen for a minor subject.
