Master of Arts in Economic Sociology - Structure and content

The Master program in Economic Sociology is structured in modules. It is composed of eight compulsory modules and one compulsory elective module.

In detail, the M.A. in Economic Sociology incorporates the following modules:

  • Module 1: Fundamentals and Theories of Economic Sociology I
  • Module 2: Empirical methods in Economic Sociology I
  • Module 3: Work and Organization
  • Module 4: Fundamentals and Theories of Economic Sociology II
  • Module 5: Empirical methods in Economic Sociology II
  • Module 6: Market, culture and International Economic Development
  • Module 7: State, politics and governance of the economy

Compulsory elective modules:  Students complete Module 8 at the Faculty of Social Sciences or Module 9 at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

  • Module 8: Specialization module (internal) at the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Module 9: Specialization module (external) at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, selectable from the fields of:
    Political Economy – Microeconomics I
    Political Economy – Macroeconomics I
    Business Administration – Finance

  • Module 10: Final Module (Colloquium and Masters Dissertation)
