Individual Coaching
As PhD candidate or Postdoc with a GRADE registration you can take advantage of individual coaching sessions. There are five sessions available for each qualification stage (doctoral & postdoctoral period). In the orientation phase before the doctorate, you can attend two sessions. The sessions provide individual support, for instance, in orientation phases (e.g., during the transitional period from university studies to the doctoral phase or to a career after the completion of your PhD or during your postdoctoral phase), in situations in which it is necessary to clarify a question or solve a specific problem (e.g., How should I deal with a certain supervisor or colleague?) or in crisis situations.
Experience shows that early-career researchers can often profit from coaching on the
following topics:
- Self-positioning
- Self-management
- How should I deal with a certain supervisor or colleague?
- Crises in the research process and how to overcome them
- Work-life balance
- Prospects for the future
Depending on your specific concerns, it is also possible to discuss other questions and issues. The coaching sessions remain strictly confidential.
The sessions are free of charge for GRADE participants. Are you not yet registered with GRADE, but would like to meet the coach? Please contact us. We'll find a solution.
Please note that the Individual Coaching is not open to doctoral candidates and postdocs registered with GRADE through our collaboration with the universities of Darmstadt and Mainz in the RMU context or through our collaboration with the HfG Offenbach
Coaching is offered in English and German. Coaching takes place by appointment only. To make an appointment, please send an e-mail to the coach.
Upcoming dates on the Westend Campus can be found in the column on the right. In addition, there is the possibility to arrange online appointments.
