The international PhD program "Democracy, Knowledge, and Gender in a Transnational World", in short IPP Transnational, is a DAAD-funded doctoral program whose implentation from 2010 to the end of 2013 substantially profits from the expertise of the IPC, which houses the IPP Transnational.

Researcher Development

The IPP Transnational’s activities to enhance the academic and professional skills of its PhD students comprise a range of lectures and workshops as well as the support of independent doctoral working groups (DocAGs) and the funding of research periods abroad. Qualification measures are developed in a dialogue with doctoral students and their supervisors, thus responding to PhD students’ concrete needs and interests.

Support Structure

The IPP Transnational offers its doctoral candidates a comprehensive range of supervision and support measures aimed at improving research conditions and enabling the completion of research work within a three-year period.

Forum Transnational

The ‘Forum Transnational’ is the program’s interdisciplinary research seminar that brings together senior researchers, guest lecturers and PhD candidates enrolled in the IPP Transnational.
