Vita

Simon Stückelberger is a postdoc researcher at the Chair of Comparative Politics at the Goethe University Frankfurt. After a master's degree in political sociology at the LSE, he received his PhD at the University of Lausanne as part of the project "Party strategies and the dynamics of electoral competition in multiparty democracies". In his dissertation entitled "Group Appeals in Electoral Politics: Comparing Party Behaviour in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands", he studies the way parties position themselves in election campaigns vis-à-vis social groups such as women, workers or immigrants. His research focuses on election campaigns, with a particular focus on targeting, the support and criticism of social groups, and negative campaigning.
