Hessen-Queensland Exchange Program

Study in Australia without having to pay tuition fees

Hessen students of all majors who have completed at least three (BA) or two (MA) semesters at a Hessen university may apply to participate in the Hessen-Queensland-Program to spend one semester in Australia (Exceptions: Students of medicine can only take subject-related courses at participating universities.)

Nominated exchange students will be exempted from paying tuition fees at the Australian partner universities. All other expenses (e.g. health insurance, travel costs, housing etc.) will have to be paid by the students. Financial support (website in German only) may be available for the study abroad period – please check carefully whether you are eligible to apply.

Semester dates:
Semester 1: end of February – end of June
Semester 2: end of July – end of November
some universities have trimesters

Application requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least in their 3rd semester (BA) / 2nd semester (MA)
  • Good academic standing
  • Good English language proficiency  
  • All majors may apply
  • Students who do not have German Abitur and are studying in a non-German-taught degree must show proof of German B2
