Information for students of Goethe University wishing to go abroad

German version

Are you interested in studying abroad or doing an internship in a different country during your studies at Goethe University?

Here you will find all relevant information…

Goethe University currently maintains cooperations with more than 300 universities in over 40 countries. As part of the agreements, Frankfurt students who successfully apply for one of these exchanges do not have to pay tuition fees to the host institution. In Europe study abroad periods are mainly carried out through the ERASMUS program (over 250 universities in 29 countries) while exchanges overseas are organized through university or state cooperations (about 30 universities in 16 countries). Most of these exchanges are only for students of certain study areas, so check carefully if you are eligible to apply. Some faculties maintain exchanges overseas of their own. Please check their websites or get in touch with the coordinators responsible for the cooperations.

Of course there is also the option to organize your stay abroad on your own. You can find information about scholarships and alternative sources of funding here (in German only). Keep in mind that many of these financial possibilities are for German citizens only. Please check carefully. If you are not sure if you may apply visit us during our office hours.

If you are planning to do an internship abroad you may apply for funding. However, most programs are reserved for German or EU citizens. Citizens of other states may apply for some programs if you are a full-time student of a German university. You can find all information here (in German only). Please come to our office during office hours for more information.
