2022

Finally, after a long break due to the pandemic, the Summerchallenge of the centre of collegiate sports FfM, could return to the Sports Campus Ginnheim on Wednesday the 22nd of June 2022 under the headline of “Get in touch & Re:start your Campuslife”. This multi-sports-tournament under best meteorological circumstances had more than 300 active participants divided over the disciplines: soccer, (beach) volleyball, streetball, roundnet, footmesa and Hyrox, with an added 150 spectators on top of that, to cheer them on.

The event was opened by the leadership of the centre of collegiate sports, Martin Mieke who emphasized the enjoyment that’s manifest in sports and movement as well as fairness.

The participants were also greeted by vice president Prof. Dr. Christiane Thompson.

The event offered a great opportunity for everyone to come together again, enjoy sports and have fun, after this long lock down period which was hard on many.

The tournaments started at 5pm, accompanied by nice music and a positive mood of everyone involved in the organisation and competitions. The cheerful sports student council provided tasty food and cold drinks.

There was also the Techniker Krankenkasse with a T-Wall which allowed two participants each to compete against each other in their speed. The ZfH GoethePlay-Bike was also there again and provided entertaining sports games like viking chess. Every tournament had its own award ceremony with great prices among which were some from the Techniker Krankenkasse and the Blauer Block. That’s how the multi-sports-tournament ended under a beautiful sunset. The Summerchallenge was another success again with laughing faces, communal exercises, fair played tournaments and a cosy get-together.

We want to say thanks for this awesome event, to all the participants, the tournament directors and the audience!
