Project "Gender Reflexive Research"

Do rats know my gender? Can AIs have prejudices?

When gender-related aspects are to be systematically included in research, researchers face very different questions. With the call for proposals "Gender aspects in view" (German: „Geschlechteraspekte im Blick“), the BMBF wants to support this reflection on the relevance of gender in the entire research process.  For this purpose, the Equal Opportunities Office, together with the Cornelia Goethe Center, has received funding for the project "Gender Reflexive Research" („Geschlechterreflexiv Forschen“) to design an initial conceptual phase. During the period from July 2022 to February 2023, the project will explore how the relevance of gender-related aspects in research can be reflected more systematically in all departments at Goethe University.

The scientific and equality policy expertise of the Equal Opportunities Office and the Cornelia Goethe Center will converge over the next seven months to develop a concept that will sustainably integrate the consideration of of the relevance of gender into the research structures of Goethe University. The project is led by Katharina Meyer from the Equal Opportunities Office in cooperation with the CGC's scientific director Johanna Leinius. Project member Paula Blömers joined the project on 15.07.22 and will be centrally involved in the conceptual phase.
