Vita

Anna Gerlach is a researcher in the DFG project “Firms and gender differences in job mobility: A study of the role of personnel practices and organizational context with German linked employer-employee data" at the Chair for Social Stratification and Social Policy since May 2019. Between September 2017 and August 2019, she worked in the ERC project CORRODE, examining the effect of unemployment on fertility decisions of women in Western welfare states. She studied Political Science (B.A.) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and then Sociology and Social Research (M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne.

In her dissertation, she analyzes the effect of company policies on the career opportunities of women and men and the role of education in this context. She also examines how different social policies affect the career paths and family planning of women in Europe.
