Together with Joachim Blatter (University of Lucerne) and Phil C. Langer (International Psychoanalytic University Berlin, Prof. Wagemann prepares a German-language textbook, entitled “Qualitative Methoden in der Politikwissenschaft” (“Qualitative Methods in Political Science”). The book will concentrate on the application of methods and will go beyond a single paradigm. It will be published withSpringer in 2017.

Prof. Wagemann, Prof. Achim Goerres (University Duisburg-Essen - link) and Markus Siewert (research associate at Prof. Wagemann's chair) edit a "Handbook on Political Science Methods", to be published by Springer in late 2018. The book will contain approximately 40 chapters which will represent the variety of political science methods. Such a volume does not exist in German language so far so that it will be an important contribution to the field.


Kick-Off COST Action

At the end of September 2016, the first meeting of the EU COST Action („European Cooperation in Science and Technology“) on the professionalization and the social impact of political science was held in Brussels (ProSEPS). COST finances the creation of a European research network which might be followed by other shared projects in the future. Prof. Wagemann is the German representative and collaborates with Working Group 2 on internationalization; he is also responsible for the Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs). Prof. Giliberto Capano (Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa) has been appointed Chair of the network. Read more
