Master American Studies (MA AS)

Students may complete the first segment of their studies, the bachelor’s in American Studies, and then go directly on to the Master’s program American Studies (AS). But this degree course is open to all students with a background in humanities, social sciences and arts, too. Students may specialize in one of the following areas:

  • American literature and literary studies
  • American culture and cultural studies
  • American history and society

The master’s degree program focuses on American culture, literature, media and history while providing ample opportunities to work and research independently. In addition to building an individual schedule that further advances the students’ theoretical and practical work and research experiences, they may participate in an “Academic Training”, which provides insight into academic structures through attending workshops and conferences, and promotes specialized working and writing skills in the academic field.
