Going Abroad

These days international experience is essential for success. Students of American and English Studies should have a first-rate command of English – and going abroad can easily improve your language skills.

Goethe University offers a wide range of options for students who want to go abroad:

Study Abroad with the Erasmus Programme

The Eramus-Programme, which stands for European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students, supports students who intend to study in another European country for a period of at least 3 months. The Department of English and American Studies cooperates with the following universities:

Working Abroad

Students enrolled in a teaching degree can do an internship as an English teacher abroad. Our department cooperates with the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst to send Assistant Teachers to different institutions abroad.

If you want to study abroad and need support concerning the application, financing, the transfer of the certificates or in other areas, you can turn to several departments at Goethe University Frankfurt, such as our department, the International Office and the Akademie für Bildungsforschung und Lehrerbildung.
