Since October of 2007, Tanja Brühl has held the professorship of political science with a focus on international institutions and peace processes at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt on the Main, the same university where she was first employed as junior professor for peace and conflict studies. Prior to this, she worked as a research fellow at the universities of Duisburg, Tübingen and Frankfurt, as well as assistant lecturer in Dresden. Her research is focused on Global Governance, peace and conflict studies and international environmental policy. Amongst others, Tanja Brühl is a member of the scientific advisory councils of the "Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen", the "Friedens-Warte" and the Institute for Peace Studies and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (ISFH). Tanja Brühl acts as a reviewer for journals (European Journal of International Relations, Peripherie, Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen, etc.), publishing houses (United Nations University Press, amongst others) and foundations (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, etc.). On behalf of the steering committee of the German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies, Tanja Brühl is editor of the "Zeitschrift für Friedens- und Konfliktforschung" (German Journal of Peace and Conflict Studies) in collaboration with Thorsten Bonacker and Christoph Weller.
