FIELD OF RESEARCH
My research focus is on understanding deep moist convection in mid-latitudes and how it might change in the future. To this end I use both long-term observations and models. Models include convection permitting climate models as well as statistical models. An important part of my work is to examine and quantify the hazards associated with deep convection such as hail, lightning and flash floods.
Furthermore, I am interested in land surface processes and their coupling to the atmosphere.
